Committees

Get Connected and Get Involved.

Contact the Chamber of Commerce office for more details for each of the committees below.

Leadership
This program is designed to identify and develop new leaders. The Leadership Committee coordinates the programs for the August through April classes. Classes focus on a variety of community development items and engage the participant to learn how they can impact Grenada.
Program Executive Leader: Ida Givens

Ambassadors
This group is the face of the Chamber by being present at all Chamber events. They also recruit new members as well as recognize a member of the month. The Ambassadors are the volunteers that give back to those in the community through servant-hearted leadership.
Program Executive Leader: Tina Swinford

Young Professionals (YP)
This is a membership-based program for young professionals in the community who are between the ages of 21 to 40. The YP holds many events throughout the year, including social events, professional development seminars, and community volunteer and service opportunities.

Education
Many programs are carried out to support and recognize our schools, teachers, and students. Some ongoing projects are student recognition and annual teacher recognition. Other areas of focus are drop-out prevention and a mentor program.
Program Executive Leader: Phillis White

Downtown Jubilee Committee
The Jubilee Committee is made up of Chamber staff and volunteers. The Jubilee is the third Saturday in September each year. They assume duties and responsibilities for all areas of the Jubilee.
Program Executive Leader: Nick Liberto

Industrial Development
This group offers support for the local industry by working to develop a policy that advances industrial needs. From roads, bridges, signage or public transportation, the committee is working through partnership to showcase our industrial base.
Industrial Chairman: Robert Wise

Workforce Development
The workforce development team works on finding additional ways to develop the emerging workforce, such as ACT (American College Testing) Work Keys. This group offers support and recognition of the existing industry through a "Salute to Industry" Golf Tournament, nominations for the Governor’s Cup Award and industry tours.
Workforce Chairwoman: Natalie Bement

Retail Development
Loyalty to local retail businesses is the primary function of this group. The Retail Committee organizes and publicizes Shop Local. They provide workshops and Holiday promotions throughout the year in order to keep our retailers on the leading edge.
Retail Chairwoman: Tish Kuhn

Community Development
This team is focused on finding opportunities to enhance Grenada’s quality of place. With so many natural resources and historical locations, Grenada has a lot to offer its citizens but also the visitor. The community development team works to tell our story to everyone.
Community Development Chairman: Will Goff

Policy and Governance
Advocacy, it is part of who we are as a Chamber of Commerce. We seek to work with those in local government but also with those at the state and federal level. If you like helping shape policy that impacts your community, then this is the team to learn more about.
Policy/Governance Chairman: Lawrence Austin

Real estate. It makes up the nuts and bolts of your town. From industrial, commercial, downtown to residential space, we need sound planning to help us move our community in a positive direction that allows for smart growth.
