Workforce Development

Greater performance. Deeper dedication.

In a region that pulls together, we’ve got it all together to put performance into high gear immediately. Greater Grenada’s workforce offers the size, skills and seasoned experience you need, all at lower costs.

The quality of our regional workforce starts at the top with key collaboration between multiple entities including the Mississippi WIN (Workforce Investment Network) Job Center, which is administered by the Three Rivers Development and Planning District, Northwest Community College and Holmes Community College (HCC), a nationally recognized industrial trainer.

Grenada workforce quality also starts at the very beginning: We are continually hitting new benchmarks with high-achieving Grenada K-12 schools and career paths that lead to immediate employment in our robust manufacturing sector, or to further training and education at 14 community college campuses and 9 major university campuses within a 100-mile radius, putting approximately 85,000 college students in the region. And our quality is ongoing as an ACT (American College Testing) Work Ready community where National Career Readiness Certificates are being earned in large numbers by high school students as well as college students and other adults.

With the right people and a powerful training infrastructure already in place, Greater Grenada is poised to work closely with you to assemble and train your team whenever, wherever you need it, whether in the HCC classroom or right on your shop floor. High-impact training combined with a steely work ethic means your operational team is ready to roll, and roll over the competition, at startup.

Greater expertise. Faster facilitation

As a designated Key Training Partner for Nissan North America since 2002, HCC has trained over 30,000 employees for the automotive sector alone. HCC’s training is informed by a powerful understanding of the challenges presented by today’s global processes, such as just-in-time manufacturing, total quality management, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, smart factories and more. The College’s 50,000-sq.-ft. Industrial Technology Complex is staffed by veteran training experts leveraging up-to-the-minute capabilities in a cutting-edge environment encompassing 6 labs, including PLC (programmable logic controller), CNC (computer numerical control), hydraulics and automation labs, machine and welding shops as well as a center for AutoCAD (computer-aided design) and CATIA V5 (computer-aided three-dimensional interactive application) training. In Panola County, a more than $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor is also helping to transform a former retail factory outlet mall into another cutting-edge training center, to be administered by Northwest Community College.

Working with you and for you every step of the way

Greater Grenada workforce development is completely customized to accommodate your needs and answer all your challenges, from recruitment and screening through pre-employment training to post-employment and training for expansions. Choose your preferred method, whether company-based, vendor-provided, train-the-trainer, or OJT (on-the-job training).

In a region that pulls together, we put more workforce power at your command.
